Today when people retire in Galveston County, Texas, they retire making at least 50 percent more than they would ever get out of Social Security...

It's Feb. 2013 and President Newt Gingrich wants to re-examine the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy of the U.S. armed forces in regard to homosexuals. While some want to change this policy to one of total acceptance, President Gingrich seems to think that gays should be banned from serving in the military. Secondly, President Gingrich supports a Congressional regulation banning women from direct ground combat units. You are an aid to a Congressman who serves on the Armed Services Committee that might be drawn into both of these questions. Your boss has not pubically taken a stand on either of these issues and is undecided about where he should stand. He has asked your group to prepare a report on the history of gays and women in the military. He has asked you to take a position on both of these issues and build the best arguement you can for your position. Further, he wants you to do a presentation stating your case as strongly as possible, but, his memory is short, so he may want you to produce a written report.

It's Feb. 2013 and Ron Paul has just taken office. He supports legilslation which would allow for "open competition in currancy". He wants to restore the gold standard.
You have been asked by the Joint Economic Committee to prepare a report on the history of the Federal Reserve System. Why was it created? What has been it's effect on the economy? Why is Ron Paul so critical of it? What are your recommendations? Should the Federal Reserve Bank conintue? Should it be reorganized, recreated, restricted?

Today--you must decide how to approach your work/ Who is going to do what? What deadlines do you need to meet along the way? After that, you can begin the project. At some point you must also decide what form do you want your presentation to take. Your teacher may decide to expand or limit your options, but, here is an initial list to consider:
